Oh yeahhh, NACA NE: Part Deux

Hola mis amigos!!

So today was totally exhilarating, exciting, fun, proactive, educational, and so much more! Today of course started off with standing in line at Starbucks waiting for stale bagels and coffee 🙂  So lets get to the juicy stuff. ED Sessions one and two…. dun dun dunnnnn

So ED Session one was with the one and only Michael Miller and Ken Abrahms! We talked about D.O.H! This means Direct (with your communication), Open (with how you feel), and Honesty (about what you think!). This session, was of course… SO MUCH FUN! The energy between the two is great, and they made us feel so involved with what they were doing. My favorite part of the session was when we talked about what was great about our board and what wasn’t so great. It was very interesting to hear the different dynamics of all the schools.

My second ED Session was NACA: Behind the Scenes. This was basically a session presented by the two Heathers (once of course the great Heather Cantwell Miller!) What we learned in this session was how to become a volunteer or staff member for our local, north east, conference. So if anyone is interested on getting involved, the application is http://www.naca.org/northeast/volunteer.html, so go fill it out. What do you have to lose?!

Tonight was the night of my Showcase #3, my blog! My favorite artist at the showcase was We Shot the Moon, a fun, sort of easy rock type band. Needless to say, the audience felt the same about them. About 30 seconds into their first song, everyone rushed the stage for a major dance party! Another nice group to listen to was Troubled Annie. A group that originates in the south, become discovered in Nashville and now sings beautiful country music. They began with a beautiful Lady Antebellum cover, and brought the entire audience to life. One of the funnier comedians of the whole conference was also at this showcase. Ben Kronberg took the stage and presented such an awkward performance. He told some politically incorrect jokes, made everyone feel uncomfortable… but still the whole crowd was roaring!!! Best part, the MC of this showcase was lude, perverse, racist, and made a prank phone call to someone’s mother!! This poor mom thought it was her daughters teacher calling to ask permission to date her! (Keep it between us, but I think she started crying!)

Well guys, I’m gonna have to call it quits now. Its 1:31, I’m wiped, and I need to get up soon 🙂 I’ll post again tomorrow!

Catch ya on the flip side!
